How could they be enticed to give more and to more charities?

ethos 2009 gives info on volontary work, taking part and experiences doing so, the things hindering volontary work and the future of it in various target groups.

Included are questions on the perceived growth of donations and the opinions of people on which areas they see as needing money.

This survey finds out what topics Finns are ready to give donations to, which topics they are willing to do volontary work for and which topics they support more in thought than in practice.

ethos 2009 measures attitudes towards altogether 41 topics. Of these 41 topics the respondents chose also their TOP3 in importance. Support of topics was measured on a scale ”supports and talks about it/supports in principle/is neutral/is against. Respondents also stated which kind of companies they think are allowed to sponsor which charity topics.

The survey also has info on which media Finns follow so that we are able to tell you where charities and associations can reach their target audience.

Fieldwork in both internet panel and postal format. 2 434 respondents in april-may 2009 (ages 15 to 75)
